Corinne

Corinne is an interesting place. A city originally coined "The Gentile City" as it was settled by non-Mormons who were very proud and determined to keep it that way. Although Mormons eventually came to town and bought land and now make up a large majority of it's citizens, Mormons and non-Mormons continue to honor their heritage and tradition of being the gentile spot on the map of 1800's Utah Territory. This attitude and respect for history can be seen in DaVerl Wells, a lifetime resident of Corinne, although Mormon, he bought the original Methodist Church (the oldest non-Mormon Church in Utah) after it was scheduled to be torn down, feeling it too valuable to the history of his town. Check out the slideshow, it's real short.
