Disclaimer: I know what you're thinking...

"How insecure is this guy?, another disclaimer?"
Starting today I am going to post some photos from Haiti from my assignments there in January. There is a bit of reluctance because I don't want to show photos from the quake and it's aftermath like it was my disaster vacation or something. Furthermore, many photographers, some even friends of mine were truly in the thick of things there and produced some telling and important work that gives us all a true portrait of what the Haitians were/are faced with. I was fortunately tasked with some stories that were more on the fringe of much of what you probably saw on the news and in magazines, and wasn't required to document some of the rougher stuff. Because this blog is more of my own feelings on photojournalism, many pictures are those that were never even turned in and represent more of what it was like for me covering something like this. The text is taken mostly from a small notebook I kept and would write things down during downtime, so it is a bit more personal than usual. It was a heartbreaking experience that simply said, took me closer to the giant confusion that surrounds us; where we puzzle over why we were born with and enjoy so many advantages while so many have so much less. If your interested in helping out, I met many very wonderful people who are helping the Haitians in many different ways, and am more than happy to put you in contact with their organizations.

I would love to help out. My resources are a little limited at the moment, but I would definitely be interested in doing what I can. Where can I find information?

www.ffcin.org/blog/
www.helpinghandsforhaiti.com/
www.do1thing.org

the top four are secular, the bottom two are faith based organizations.
