Hamburg

Went back to Germany for quick week. I really didn't shoot much, the trip was busy with other things. Thin winter sun and clashing architecture in Hamburg was nearly the only thing I raised my camera for. It's crazy, I remember shooting so much in the past years, everywhere I went, and although I feel like my taste and love for photography has only grown, at times I find myself shooting less. There has to be something said for wanting to do something better than you did before - and that requires the applicable time. Maybe that is why the diptychs, put two photos together and the one doesn't have to stand by itself = you can shoot quicker. Uh-oh...I've just outed myself. Crap.

Outed or not, I've been enjoying the diptychs you post for a while now...

Agree with that. I haven't been doing it as long but still felt the same way, until I picked up my old Mamiya. Now when shooting for fun I find myself using that and my polaroid more and more. Rejuvenating.

Yep. I think that's one reason photographers buy a new camera - or a new lens, to feel a "newness" or a rejuvenation. Things tend to become routine - almost "rote" - in all our endeavors, even in our most exciting relationships or projects or even in our worship of deity. I can relate.
