I am curious if anyone studies that alphabet as well. My mother works at the High Desert Museum in Central Oregon and someone donated that same book to them. It's a very curious book.
Many people study the phonetic alphabet! It is used by linguists, and also used around the world to teach the English language. I learned it, too. HOWEVER...the version in this picture is not familiar to me. Some of the characters are, but others are not. I would like to know, as you said, who studies THIS alphabet, the "other" version of the phonetic alphabet.
