Familiar

I love my job, or profession, or career path, whatever it is called. I don't know too many other jobs where you drive 45 minutes on your day off to have lunch with an old boss and his family on vacation. There is a blurred line between coworkers and friends in photojournalism that I have noticed since I began a few years ago, and I feel blessed to be a part of it. Over the last two and a half years I have met people from all over through photography. A friend of mine once said it is frightening how much time out of our life on earth we spend working, even more so to those who hate their jobs. It is nice being invited into the lives of those we actually see proportionately as much as our families. Chuck, Julie and Kate Wing stopped in Castle Rock yesterday and I remembered the value of familiar faces after leaving Utah a month ago. Such makes it all a little less "frightening".

I miss Chuck, he is the best. When you come back to Utah, we all need to go get dinner again.
