Last week I spoke to a class at Utah State University about photojournalism. I was asked to speak on my personal philosophy on photography. Which can't be much as I am such a newbie in comparison to all those I work with. While I was putting my presentation together I came across this picture of my brother Jeff and I in Switzerland as kids. I think a large inspiration for me as a photographer was that my parents were always showing us places and things. I decided to start out my presentation with this photo to explain why and how I became interested in photography. It just cracks me up for some reason so I figured I would post it.
Jeff is on the left, the little Keebler elf on the right is yours truly.

nice pose
Seriously, what little kid poses like that unless they're in a Kiddie Kandids photo shoot with their favorite toy and a painted background. The background in this photo is infinitely better. You guys are hilarious.
I too experienced Sweetzerland with dad and I can honestly say it was probably the happiest I've ever seen him. There's something about those Alps that just make people feel good. Even the BMW sounded more content than ever as it climbed up to mountain villages on smooth, curve laden roads, passing by lazy cows sitting in the tall cool grass, looking down into a glacier cut valley with waterfalls pouring off 500 foot cliffs. I recall wishing for a moment that I could trade them places. I could stare at that view all summer, or as dad would say, "soak it in son, soak it in"- -Greg
i like chocolate from that ther place. them cows caint be happyer then the ones i grow up in my cash valley. we do cheese, dang good cheese, but i still fancy that chocolate. my wife likes it to. i'll give her anything to git her to stop eatin so much cheese, but it is dang good cheese-don't get me wrong-so go buy some cheese-that's what i do- but i still cain't stop thinking about that chocolate
..a star is born....MIKE!
if smurfs were actually people I can image this could be a photo from one of their memory books, picture the houses as huts, in fact picture yourself painted blue, striking resemblence, I must say...
