Terrace Apartments


This was taken the morning after a fire burned the top floor of a Salt Lake apartment building a few blocks from my home. The woman being hugged was sad, but through talking with her, seemed to be more grateful than anything. Being there at the same time as her talking with her friend who happens to be the building super was pure luck. These kind of situations are never not awkward, but they are important to show the human reaction to loss.

So many are angry at SOMEONE.
It is seldom, in your immediate grief, that you find gratitude for EMS crews and your life!

Yet, in our neck of the woods, we rely on volunteers: firefighters, victim services volunteers, for example. Much media attention is focused on those who rail against The Man.
